On a recent trip to California to meet up with Doogie and head to a race at Glenn Helen, I got a little free time to explore Southern California.  I’ve always heard how beautiful Laguna Beach and Huntington Beach is and I had almost a whole day of no obligations.  So, rather than waste the day, I fired up my GPS and headed down the Pacific Coast Highway for a little exploration.  I’m not a huge fan of inland California because of the extreme heat and desert terrain, but I think the coastline is absolutely gorgeous.  On the east coast where I’m from, the coastline is really flat almost everywhere.  I think that’s why the mountainous regions directly on the west coast appealed most to me.  I snapped a few photos of some things that caught my eye.

I thought we had alot of lifted vehicles in redneck Pennsylvania.  That was until I hit Southern California.  There were some huge trucks with high dollar suspension systems rolling up and down the highway.  I was completely surprised that even the lifeguards in Laguna Beach had lifted Chevy Tahoes!!!!   I also saw a ton of vintage 70’s muscle cars, beach bugs, and just some genuinely cool rides!

I was hoping to grab some lunch with “LC” and her pals, but they had an evening full of drama planned instead.  Maybe next time!
